Mnemonic Cheat Sheet
1. The Hand Brain Model
Fold your thumb into your palm and wrap your fingers over it. Your wrist is the brainstem (life functions), your hidden thumb is the limbic system (emotions/memory), and your folded fingers are the cerebral cortex (higher-level thinking).
2. Anatomical Word Associations
Create bizarre mental images to lock in the vocabulary. For example, picture a hippopotamus wandering around a college campus to remember the Hippocampus deals with memory.
3. The Method of Loci
Mentally map brain parts to your bedroom. Place the Occipital Lobe near the window (vision) and Broca’s Area near a speaker (speech production).
4. Dual Coding
Do not just read the terms. Draw simple, quick doodles next to your notes to connect the visual and verbal centers of your brain.
